Resort Accommodation on Fraser Island
Kingfisher Bay Resort
Kingfisher Bay Resort sits among tree-covered dunes on the
western side of the island. It rests at the edge of the calm waters of the Great
Sandy Strait and is a great base for boating, fishing, swimming, bush walking,
four-wheel driving and enjoying the natural beauty of Fraser Island.
Kingfisher rangers run a variety of 4wd bus tours and smaller
personalised tours exploring the island. They also have a free program of nature
walks and activities like bird watching, stargazing and fishing clinics.
The resort has won four Australian Tourism Awards plus the
resort and all tours have been awarded Advanced National Ecotourism Accreditation.
At Kingfisher Bay Resort you can do as much or as little
as you like - relax with a drink beside one of four swimming pools, play tennis,
simply sit in a spa, indulge at the natural therapy and beauty clinic or just
go fishing.
There are three restaurants serving Australian bush foods
and wonderful fresh seafood. The Seabelle Restaurant has a program to introduce
guests to Australian food and wine.
A Junior Eco Ranger program for kids has them occupied with
art, walks, orienteering, rope courses, canoeing, spotlighting for animals,
stargazing and campfires with story telling and sing-a-longs.
The facilities at Kingfisher Bay include a Resort hotel,
self-contained 2 and 3 bedroom villas, restaurants, a café, bars, nightclub,
water sports, tours and 4WD hire.
