Walkers camps for hiking on Fraser Island
Walkers Camps
The Environmental Protection Agency provided walkers camps along the Great
Walk.
These are located at:
- Lake Boomanjin
- Lake Benaroon
- Central Station
- Lake McKenzie
- Lake Wabby
- Valley of the Giants
- Lake Garawongera
The walkers camps have a toilet, freshwater and platforms. Some have storage
lockers to keep your food away from animals.
There is also one at Jabiru Swamp without a toilet.

Beach Camping
On Fraser Island you can camp next to the beach where there are signs stating
you can. Camping on the beach means no water or toilets.

The Environmental Protection Agency has other campsites at:
- Waddy Point
- Wathumba (north western beach)
- Dundubara
- One Tree Rocks (near Eurong)
- Coolooloi Creek (Hook Point)
- Dulara (Approx. 16.5km north of the Hook Point barge landing area.)
- Midyim
- Garulim
Most of these have no water or toilets available.
